What is a GST calculator?
A GST calculator is a simple online tool that works out Goods and Services Tax on any price in India. Type an amount, pick a GST slab — 3%, 5%, 12%, 18% or 28% — and choose whether to add GST to a base price (exclusive → inclusive) or remove GST from an MRP or invoice total (inclusive → exclusive). The tool instantly shows the base value, the GST amount, the CGST/SGST split, and the final price.
GST calculation formula
Remove GST: Base = Total × 100 ÷ (100 + Rate) → GST = Total − Base
Example: a service billed at ₹10,000 with 18% GST becomes ₹11,800 (GST ₹1,800, split into ₹900 CGST + ₹900 SGST for a within-state sale). Going the other way, an MRP of ₹1,180 at 18% contains a base price of ₹1,000 and ₹180 of GST.
